Variant form of 腏

305/4154

𪠰 is a written variant of 腏, an old Chinese character with two Mandarin readings in pinyin: chuò, “meat picked from between bones,” and zhuì, “linked sacrifice.” Forms of 腏 appear in late Warring States bronze inscriptions and Qin bamboo slips. The Eastern Han dictionary Shuowen explains the meat sense; in the Book of Han, 腏 names a rite that Tang commentator Yan Shigu identifies with 餟.

Why does 𪠰 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
