What 𪶤 means
Enter EOTO on a Cangjie-enabled Chinese keyboard.
Cangjie is a shape-based Chinese input method: you type letters assigned to character components. Taiwan’s CNS11643 record confirms the EOTO mapping for 𪶤.
What does 𪶤 mean?
It is a personal-name character, pronounced měi in Mandarin.
Han characters are the Chinese characters also used as Japanese kanji and Korean hanja. The Jinxian County Gazetteer 进贤县志 (a local history book) prints 邓𪶤 as a poem heading; a Chinese character dictionary also records it in Taiwanese names.
Will 𪶤 display on Windows?
Taiwan lists it in Windows 10 default fonts.
As of 2026, Taiwan’s CNS11643 entry says MingLiU and DFKai-SB include the glyph by default on Windows 10 and later. If an app shows a box, its selected font may not contain this rare character.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𪶤 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension C block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
