What 𪷞 means
It has documented readings in Vietnamese and Chinese references.
In Vietnamese chữ Nôm, a historical writing system that adapted Chinese characters to write Vietnamese, 𪷞 represents chàm. A Hán-Nôm dictionary glosses it with áo chàm (indigo-dyed clothing) and dân tộc Chàm (the Cham people). A Chinese dictionary lists the same glyph as a variant of 灆, read lán in Mandarin (pinyin) and laam4 in Cantonese (Jyutping), with the senses “clear water” and “pickled vegetables.”
What does “tay nhúng chàm” mean?
It means a past act has left a moral stain.
Literally, “tay nhúng chàm” is a hand dipped in indigo. The early-19th-century Vietnamese verse tale Truyện Kiều by Nguyễn Du uses 𪷞 in “Trót vì tay đã nhúng chàm” (“My hand has already dipped in indigo”); the line frames the speaker’s past as wrongdoing that cannot be undone.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𪷞 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
