What 𪷮 means
Type 2ADEE, then press AltX in Microsoft Word.
If hexadecimal characters touch the code, select only 2ADEE before converting. Microsoft's Word guidance confirms this method (2026). Typing the Latin-script word xoá or xóa does not produce this separate chữ Nôm character.
What does 𪷮 mean?
It records the Vietnamese verb xoá.
Depending on context, xoá means erasing marks, deleting an entry, or abolishing something; xóa is an alternative modern spelling in Quốc ngữ, the Latin-based Vietnamese alphabet. Chữ Nôm was a Vietnamese writing system that adapted Chinese characters and their parts to record Vietnamese words. A stone inscription shows the script in use by 1173. Chữ Nôm existed alongside Literary Chinese, the formal written language used for Vietnamese education and administration, and continued into the early 20th century, when Quốc ngữ became the main written form.
