CJK ideograph 2AE5D

1886/4154

Don’t assume 𪹝 simply means “bright”: a Unicode source record links it to 燦 (Mandarin pinyin càn, “bright” or “radiant”), but a 2007 review said more evidence was needed to tell whether the encoded character was distinct from 煨, a character for simmering food. A 2008 proposal records Taiwan source identifier TD-5F24; treat that as provenance, not proof that 𪹝 can replace 燦 in ordinary text.

Why does 𪹝 show as a box on some devices?

Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
