What 𪻯 means
A 1545 Korean court chronicle uses it in a Chinese envoy’s name. Joseon was Korea’s dynasty at the time; its chronicle records the Chinese envoy as 郭𪻯. A Chinese dictionary gives fàng for its Chinese entry but leaves the sense unclear; its Korean personal-name note gives bang (방). A Unicode standards document—a record of digital character identities—links the Chinese source form to 猨, a character used for “ape.”
