What 𫃬 means
For Taiwanese names, the Mandarin reading is shú. One Chinese dictionary separately labels it an old Zhuang character, but as of 2026 gives no gloss for that use.
Old Zhuang writing adapted Chinese character forms to record the Zhuang language, using sound and meaning. A stone inscription at Shanglin, Guangxi, dated 682, is among the wider script's earliest surviving examples.
A 1989 dictionary drew on songs, ritual texts, stories, family records, contracts, letters and inscriptions. Local forms varied; the Latin-based Zhuang standard came in 1955 and was revised in the 1980s.
