What 𫊸 means
An ancient Chinese insect word that also became a surname.
The Shuowen Jiezi, a Chinese dictionary of about 100 CE, calls 蟜 an insect; later dictionaries add a venomous insect, a tattooed 'wild person,' an ant (蠪蟜), a surname, and the legendary ancestor 蟜極.
Why does 𫊸 look different from 蟜?
One word, two spellings: simplified 𫊸, traditional 蟜.
Simplified Chinese writes it as insect-radical 虫 plus sound-giving 乔; traditional keeps the fuller 喬, giving 蟜. Same word, same jiǎo; only the shape changed.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𫊸 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
