What 𫏕 means
In Yupian, a Chinese character dictionary first compiled around 543.
Yupian’s surviving text reflects later revisions. Its entry for 𨆪 glosses it as walking on one foot. The historical chronicle Zuo Zhuan says Lin Yong’s foot was cut off; Duan Yucai’s commentary reads the story as Lin using his shin to push against the ground as he walks.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𫏕 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
