What 𫐚 means
It writes ớt, the Vietnamese word for chili pepper. Chữ Nôm adapted Chinese characters and their parts to write Vietnamese, so Han-shaped graphs can represent Vietnamese words.
Nôm was used from the 10th century into the 20th century for Vietnamese literature and public records. Another Nôm form, 𣎷, is also recorded for ớt; 𫐚 is listed as derived from it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𫐚 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension C block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
