What 𫒴 means
Its oldest recorded Japanese gloss is “the tip of a spear.”
The earliest documented entry is in the Shinsen Jikyō, a Japanese dictionary of Chinese characters and readings from the late ninth century. It transcribes 𫒴 as ほこのさき. Other Japanese dictionaries link it with 客 and list readings glossed as “clear,” “guest,” “unusual,” “traveler,” and “to approach.” Japanese lexicographers classify the character as kokuji, a kanji made in Japan.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𫒴 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
