What 𫒼 means
A spear set point-down.
Japanese dictionaries classify it as kokuji, a kanji made in Japan. Its form joins 金 (“metal”) and 逆 (“reverse”); the word is also written 逆鉾 or 逆矛.
Is 𫒼 the spear on Takachiho Peak?
It names the idea, but the object has its own history.
Local tradition links the summit spear on Takachiho Peak to Ninigi, a deity said to descend from heaven. Another version says it is the creation spear creator gods Izanagi and Izanami used to stir the sea into the first island.
Edo-period documents from Japan’s shogunate era mention the summit spear. That dates the written record, not the character’s coinage.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𫒼 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
