Swift-horse character

𫘕 is a Japanese-made kanji—a character used in Japanese writing—for a swift horse of exceptional quality; it is read ときうま (toki-uma). A glossary for Buddhist commentaries on the Lotus Sutra, 法華三大部難字記, gives it the gloss 千里行 (“travels a thousand ri,” an old distance unit). The reading is attested in Nihon Shoki, a Japanese chronicle from 720; that date belongs to the word, not necessarily this exact written form.
