What 𫜔 means
A Han-era word list preserves its northern Yan use.
Yang Xiong’s Fangyan, a dictionary of regional words, records 䴽 as a name for qu in northern Yan, a historical region in northern China. Later dictionaries gloss it as a small cake of qu, the grain-based starter used to brew alcohol.

1Why does 𫜔 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
