What 𫭮 means
Context decides whether it blocks or fills.
Shuowen Jiezi, a dictionary from the Han dynasty, glosses 𡍫 as “to bar or stop” and explains it as 土 (“earth”) plus 則 for sound. A later dictionary, Zhengzitong, adds “to fill or obstruct,” citing a Buddhist scripture phrase.
Why do some references show 𡍫?
𡍫 is the traditional variant paired with 𫭮.
Unicode's Han database pairs these forms as simplified and traditional variants; Taiwan's Ministry of Education dictionary files the entry under 𡍫 and gives the Mandarin reading cè.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𫭮 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension E block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
