What 𬗜 means
Chữ Nôm adapted Chinese characters and their parts to write Vietnamese.
After Vietnam regained independence from China in 939, scholars developed the script gradually. The reference work Tự Điển Chữ Nôm Dẫn Giải (a dictionary of Nôm characters with quotations) cites 𬗜 in “𥶇茹埃𬗜茹意,” glossed “Giỏ nhà ai, quai nhà ấy” (“Each basket has its own handle”), from Nam lục, 8b.
