What 𭸷 means
It represents the Buddhist term geya/geyya.
The Chinese reading is zhī; dictionaries record its doubled form 𭸷𭸷. Sanskrit geya and Pali geyya are terms from two Indian languages used in Buddhist texts. The verse repeats earlier prose for recitation.
Does geya always mean a verse that repeats prose?
No; Buddhist sources give the term different scopes.
Chinese dictionaries give the narrow recap sense. Buddhaghosa, a Pali scholar and scripture commentator in the 5th century, uses geyya more broadly for discourses containing verses, including the Sagāthā-vagga (“Chapter with Verses”) in the Saṃyutta Nikāya (“Connected Discourses”).

Questions people ask
1Why does 𭸷 show as a box on some devices?
Not every system ships a font for the CJK Unified Ideographs Extension F block. Where none is installed, the character shows as an empty box; adding a font such as Noto fixes it. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
