What 𭽏 means
A rare written variant of 皐. Japanese reference works record 𭽏 as a nonstandard form of 皐; 皐 is itself a variant of 皋.
The related form 皋 appears in the Book of Songs, an ancient Chinese poetry collection, in 九皋, which traditional commentary explains as a marsh. Japanese references also give 皐 the sense “shore” and use it for the fifth month of the old lunar calendar, as in 皐月 (Satsuki). Japan’s Moji Joho project began in 2011 to support precise characters in official records; its catalogue lists 𭽏 as MJ059928.
