The Eastern Han dictionary Shuowen Jiezi, completed around 100 CE, records 綽 as 繛 and glosses it “slow, relaxed.” Its entry describes a silk-related component and 卓 as a sound marker; later dictionaries also record “ample” and “graceful.”
