What 𮉰 means

A written variant of 垂 means “to hang down” or “droop.”

In Mandarin, 垂 is pronounced chuí. The Han-dynasty dictionary 《說文解字》 (Shuowen Jiezi) glosses it as “a distant edge”; later dictionaries also list “hang down,” “droop,” and “extend.”

𮉰 in 《阙里志》, a Ming-dynasty reference book, appears in a description of ceremonial headwear: one part is tied while another hangs.
