What 𮊸 means
A rare, nonstandard form of 習.
Traditional Chinese and Japanese use 習; simplified Chinese uses 习. Japanese readings are shū and narau; 習 can also mean habit or custom.
The Kangxi Dictionary (1716) labels 𮊸 a nonstandard form of 習. Late Shang oracle-bone inscriptions—divination records on shell or bone—use 習 in repeated divinations; bamboo texts from China's Warring States period use it for learning. Shuowen Jiezi, a dictionary from the Eastern Han dynasty, explains 習 as repeated bird flight, though paleographers disagree about the oldest form. A box for 𮊸 means the font or program lacks a glyph.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𮊸 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
