What 𮕸 means
Use 𮕸 in HTML or \u{2E578} in a JavaScript string.
The braces let JavaScript express the full Unicode value at once; its older \uXXXX escape takes only four hex digits and cannot hold this character by itself.
What is 𮕸 used for?
It is a Han character recorded in Buddhist scripture.
The University of Tokyo’s SAT Daizōkyō Text Database lists 𮕸 in the character set proposed for the Taishō Shinshū Daizōkyō, a published collection of Buddhist scriptures in classical Chinese. The added characters let its digital text preserve forms found in print for searching and citation. The collection developed across Chinese, Korean, and Japanese Buddhist traditions before its printed Taishō edition in Tokyo, 1924–1934. That dates the edition, not the character’s origin; read 𮕸 in its passage for its sense.
