What 𮖪 means
Sawndip uses Han-derived signs to write spoken Zhuang by their sound, their meaning, or both, and it also builds new forms from their parts.
The glyph's specific reading belongs to this Zhuang-script setting; its shape alone doesn't give a Mandarin reading.
Its word and script connect to a wider history
Zhuang moq has several recorded Sawndip spellings, including 𮖪. Thai ใหม่ (mài) and Lao ໃໝ່ (mai) also mean “new”; these are cognate words, not variant glyphs.
Sawndip developed to write Zhuang with Chinese-derived forms. A stone inscription from Shanglin County, Guangxi, dated to the Tang dynasty (618–907), is cited as the script's earliest surviving physical evidence; it dates the tradition, not this spelling.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𮖪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
