What 𮘕 means
Mandarin pinyin: wěi; doubled, it means engaging, sustained speech.
A 1643 edition of Wuyi shan zhi (a local history of Mount Wuyi) describes mountain stories as 𮘕𮘕可听 (“engaging to hear”). Other historical books also print the doubled form. One Chinese character dictionary classifies 𮘕 as an erroneous form of 娓.
