What 𮙚 means
It is a variant form of 函.
Early Chinese inscriptions carved on animal bones and found on bronze vessels show an ancestor of 函 as an arrow stored in a case. The container sense later broadened to “box” and “enclose”; in Chinese, 函 also came to mean a letter or its envelope. In Japanese, 函 can be read はこ (“box”), though everyday writing usually uses 箱.
𮙚 is a nonstandard variant; use 函 when writing this character in ordinary text.
