What 𮢎 means
Its sense depends on the surrounding words.
In classical Chinese, 鎩 names a long spear and can also mean to damage or thwart. In 鎩羽 (“clipped wings”), it describes a setback; that literary sense goes beyond the weapon noun.
Where was 𮢎 used?
A Buddhist commentary preserves an example.
The Taishō canon (a collection of Buddhist texts) preserves 𮢎 in 大日經疏, a Tang-era commentary (a book explaining a scripture) on the Mahāvairocana scripture, composed 724–727. There, 尾世𮢎數 is glossed as 修行殊勝行 (“practice of excellent conduct”); a parallel transcription uses 鎩 in the same place.

1Why does 𮢎 show as a box on some devices?
