What 𮢜 means

A nonstandard historical form of 鐵, the Chinese character for iron.

A Korean medical compendium completed in 1433 preserves 𮢜屑 (“iron filings”) in a 1633 printed edition. Chinese historical texts also use this form for iron chains and objects.

Japanese character records give this form the readings テツ (tetsu), テチ (techi), and くろがね (kurogane, the Japanese word for iron).
