What 𮧣 means

It named a broad belt worn with traditional dress.

Completed in 100 CE, Shuowen Jiezi, a Chinese character dictionary, defines 鞶 as a large belt and quotes the Book of Changes on one being awarded. The Classic of Rites, a guide to ritual and dress, says men's belts were leather and women's silk; one old commentary instead reads 鞶 as a small pouch for a cloth.
