What 𮪋 means
Its structure describes parts, not pronunciation. SAT records 馬炎: 馬 at left, 炎 at right. The Buddhist passage supplies its sense.
Where does 𮪋 appear?
Its source is the Taishō Shinshū Daizōkyō. This printed Buddhist canon was published in Japan from 1924 to 1934; the University of Tokyo's SAT text project digitized it.
In 2017, the SAT project's Unicode 10.0 list included 𮪋 so the digital edition could preserve it as searchable text.
Why does 𮪋 sometimes show as a box?
A missing glyph is a font issue. The SAT 2012 guide says characters its service could not show as text appeared as images. Unicode stores 𮪋 as text, but your font must draw it.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𮪋 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
