What 𮭬 means
For the Mandarin reading tóng, 㮔 is a shortened form of 橦.
In Mandarin pinyin (a way to write Mandarin sounds with Latin letters), the reading is tóng. A 1671 edition of the Qing dictionary Zhengzitong records 㮔 as a short form of 橦.
The older Chinese dictionary Shuowen Jiezi, completed around 100 CE, defines 橦 as a post that supports a tent. Separate dictionary entries also use 橦 for an acrobatic pole and for a tree whose soft flower fibers were spun into cloth. These are historical senses under different readings, so the surrounding words decide which one fits.

1Why does 𮭬 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
