What means
It means armor and is a nonstandard variant of 鎧.
鎧 combines 金 (metal) with 豈, its sound component. keeps 豈 but uses simplified 钅; ordinary simplified Chinese writes 铠.
The armor word predates this encoding.
The Warring States political text Han Feizi uses 鎧甲 for body armor in an argument about changing warfare. The Eastern Han dictionary 說文解字 (Shuowen Jiezi) later defines 鎧 as armor.
That old meaning survives in Chinese forms: traditional 鎧, usual simplified 铠, and this nonstandard variant. 2023 dates this graph’s Unicode encoding, not the armor word.
A nonstandard Chinese writing form.
Use 铠 in standard simplified text; keep in exact transcriptions.
