What 𰂊 means

It links stinginess with regret.

Hanyu Dazidian, a major character dictionary, records 𰂊 as equivalent to 恡 in its second edition (2010). Chinese dictionaries treat 恡 as a variant of 吝, whose classical Chinese senses include regret, stinginess, and sparing.

𰂊 combines 亻, the left-side person component, with 𠯌, an old form of 吝.

Specialized and bookish; it is not the everyday choice.

For ordinary Chinese writing, use 吝 or 吝啬.

Questions people ask

Why does 𰂊 show as a box?

Font coverage. This is in CJK Extension G, a group of extra Han characters; GNU Unifont 18.0.01 covers 13% of the group. A box usually means your font or app lacks this glyph, not that the character changed.
