What 𰃪 means
𰃪 is an old form of 岡 for a ridge or hill.
The Longkan Shoujian, a Chinese Buddhist character dictionary, was completed in 997 by the Liao monk Xingjun. It helped readers understand difficult forms, pronunciations, and meanings in Buddhist scriptures; its entry identifies 𰃪 as 岡.
The early Chinese dictionary Shuowen Jiezi glosses 岡 as a mountain’s backbone—that is, a ridge or crest. Chinese dictionaries also use 岡 for a hill or high slope. Unicode encodes 𰃪 and 岡 as separate characters, despite their historical equivalence.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𰃪 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
