What 𰌚 means
It is a historical Han character preserved through Buddhist textual scholarship. The 2025 Unicode chart lists source SAT-05213; SAT points to the Taishō Shinshū Daizōkyō (1924–1934), a Japanese-edited Buddhist canon.
The early Chinese dictionary Shuowen Jiezi (compiled around 100 CE) glosses 嬹 as “to speak” and analyzes it as 女 (“woman”) plus 興 as the sound cue. The Guangyun rhyme dictionary (1008) gives “pleased; joyful.” These are older glosses for 嬹; the passage around 𰌚 determines its reading.
