What 𰍸 means
It can write “clogs,” but context changes the reading.
Lim Hiong Seng’s 1886 Handbook of the Swatow Vernacular, a language-learning book, pairs 𰍸 with kiáh, the romanized spoken word for clogs in Teochew, a local Chinese variety. A note comparing editions of the Rites of Zhou (a book on ritual and government) identifies 𰍸 as a mistaken form of 庪. These separate records do not show one meaning evolving into the other.
