What 𰑝 means
In this proposal, read 𰑝 as 慎.
慎 means “careful” or “cautious.” The proposed form keeps 慎’s left heart/mind component, 忄, and replaces the right-hand 真 with 𰅴, a proposed short form of 真 (“true”). Reusing that component across several characters was a way to reduce strokes in the proposed set.
Is 𰑝 standard Chinese writing?
No; the government withdrew the draft in 1986.
Some forms in the draft’s first table were tried in print, but that trial stopped in 1978. For standard Chinese writing, use 慎.
A proposal-era form; standard Chinese prose uses 慎.
Use 慎 for standard Chinese writing.

Questions people ask
1Why does 𰑝 show as a box on some devices?
It is recent: Unicode added it in version 13.0 (2020), and phones and computers whose fonts are older than that have nothing to draw it with. The character itself is still correct and copies correctly.
