What 𰘹 means
It names a tree in older Chinese writing. The Tang court’s Book of Sui, a history of the earlier Sui rulers, mentions it in a passage about wheel rims on official carriages.
A Ming-era Wenzhou gazetteer, a local reference book, lists it among trees traded as goods. An 1882 Yongjia county gazetteer says its fruit was eaten and ground into food powder called 苦𰘹粉 (“bitter 𰘹 flour”).

Questions people ask
1Why does 𰘹 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
