What 𰝭 means
It names a source of water.
Its Zhuang reading is mboq. A Zhuang poetry text uses the word for a well where people draw water.
What is Sawndip?
A traditional writing system for the Zhuang language.
Sawndip writes Zhuang words with Chinese characters, borrowing whole forms and adapting or combining parts. A stone inscription in present-day Guangxi, southern China, from 682 CE is early evidence of the tradition. In 1175, Fan Chengda, a writer of China’s Song dynasty, described Sawndip in local petitions and contracts. Those dates document the tradition, not when this exact character form arose.
