What 𰠥 means
It is a Han character preserved in a Buddhist canon. SAT-00313 points to the SAT Daizōkyō database of the Taishō Shinshū Daizōkyō, a collection of Buddhist scriptures.
The canon’s printed edition dates to 1924–1934 and draws on scriptures from India, China, Korea, and Japan. SAT proposed encoding its previously unrepresented characters so digital editions could preserve the text; that date belongs to the collection, not to the original history of every glyph.
Why might 𰠥 appear as a blank box?
A font without Extension G coverage cannot draw the glyph.
The Noto Sans CJK TC coverage list checked in 2026 includes Extension F but not Extension G. Without another font to take over, it can leave 𰠥 blank; that is a font-coverage gap, not a different character.
Questions people ask
1Why does 𰠥 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
