What 𰮷 means
It is read as noh. In Zhuang, noh means meat or flesh. Sawndip adapts Chinese characters and parts to write Zhuang speech.
Sawndip developed over centuries. Tang-era steles preserve some of its oldest examples; a Song-era account records local writing for legal documents. It also served songs, stories, ritual books, contracts, genealogies and place names. Regional forms varied. A Latin-based standard appeared in 1955 and was revised in the 1980s. This glyph’s source is the 1989 Ancient Zhuang Character Dictionary. Historically, sweethearts exchanged Sawndip written on fans.
