What 𰱔 means
It is a traditional way to write Zhuang. Some forms borrow whole Chinese characters; others change or combine their components to fit Zhuang words and sounds. The Unicode source locator points to the first character in the first entry on page 2 of the 1989 Ancient Zhuang Character Dictionary.
What did people write in Sawndip?
It served records as well as literary and ritual texts. By China's Tang dynasty, writers were adapting Chinese character principles to write Zhuang. A writer of the Southern Song dynasty, Fan Chengda, records local writing used for contracts and documents. The 1989 dictionary draws on manuscripts of ritual texts, folksongs, stories, plays, inscriptions, family records, and agreements.
