What 𰶍 means
The fuller form 讂 is recorded around 100 CE.
The early Chinese dictionary Shuowen Jiezi, compiled by the scholar Xu Shen around 100 CE, glosses 讂 as “rumor” and analyzes it as 言 (“speech”) plus 夐, a sound component. Other reference works list “seeking” and “distant”; another reading means “talkative.” 𰶍 is an analogical simplification, not a new word.
