What 𰷏 means
The Unicode chart cites the second edition of Hanyu Da Zidian, a major Chinese character dictionary published in 2010, for this exact form and pairs it with 賭.
For 賭, 貝 points to money or valuables and 者 supplies the sound. A later-added entry in Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary, glosses 賭 as 博簺, an old wagering game.
A Three Kingdoms-period essay records players wagering clothing during a game. A later historical account uses 賭 for a poetry contest, showing the word could also describe competing to win.

1Why does 𰷏 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
