What 𰻙 means
The linked Chinese verb 逭 means “to escape.” A 2015 Unicode CJK working chart identifies this Extension G form as 逭. The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary, analyzes 逭 as 辵, a movement component, plus 官 as its sound component.
The Book of Documents, an early Chinese classic, quotes it in 自作孽,不可逭: “You cannot escape the harm you caused.” Later dictionaries also record “be exempt from.” A 2020 philology study from Fudan University notes that older “walk” and “turn” glosses lack clear examples in surviving texts.
