Dictionary form of 顩

𱂫 is a dictionary form of 顩, an old Chinese word for facial appearance. Its surviving glosses are concrete and unflattering—mostly about teeth and the chin—rather than one tidy modern sense.

What 𱂫 means

It describes facial appearance, including teeth and chin. The Chinese character dictionary Hanyu Da Zidian (《漢語大字典》) lists 𱂫 as an analogical simplification of 顩: it applies a simplification pattern to the older form. The early Chinese character dictionary Shuowen Jiezi (《說文解字》) records 顩 with 頁, the head component, for meaning and 僉 for sound.

Later dictionary glosses are more specific: uneven teeth showing past the lips, a narrow face with a pointed chin, a chin curved upward, or uneven facial contours.

Why does 𱂫 display as a square?

If it appears as a square or blank, the font being used may lack the glyph; that display gap does not mean the text contains a different character.
