What 𱈜 means
𱈜 is a later, analogically simplified form of the older character 鱻.
A form of 鱻 appears in writing cast onto bronze objects during the middle of China’s Western Zhou period (~900 BC). The Shuowen Jiezi, an early Chinese dictionary compiled in the Han era, glosses 鱻 as “fresh fish” and notes that it is written with three fish elements. Later dictionaries record 鱻 as an alternate form of 鮮 for the fresh sense.

1Why does 𱈜 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
