What does 𱊯 mean?
It writes the old Chinese bird name 鸄.
The Erya, a Chinese glossary, equates 鸄 with 鶶鷵; its commentator Guo Pu describes a crow-like bird with gray-white coloring. Hanyu Da Zidian, a large Chinese character dictionary, records 𱊯 as an analogically simplified form: the lower component changes from traditional 鳥 to simplified 鸟. The Youyang Zazu, a 9th-century Chinese collection of short notes, describes the bird’s plumage changing from yellow through blue-gray and turning pale.
