What 𱋍 means
It points back to buto, a cake fried in oil.
Wamyō Ruijushō, a Japanese dictionary compiled in 931–938, records 䴺𪌘 as one spelling for buto. The Song encyclopedia Taiping Yulan (977–983) quotes 𪌘 in Shu Xi’s Bing Fu, a poem about cakes; Guangyun, a Song dictionary arranged by rhyme (1007–1008), glosses 䴺𪌘 as a cake.
In 2017, buto was described as still being made for offerings at Kasuga Taisha in Nara, under the spelling 餢飳. This is a ritual continuation of the food, recorded with a different spelling.

1Why does 𱋍 show as a box on some devices?
Because that device's fonts have no glyph for it. The character is still correct and still copies correctly — the box is a missing glyph, not a broken character.
