What 𱌼 means
It describes teeth that do not line up evenly. The older form 𪙉 appears in the Shuowen Jiezi, a Chinese character dictionary whose epilogue is dated 100 CE. Its entry says 齒 (“teeth”) points to the meaning while 差 is a sound clue. The character’s Unicode source record cites Hanyu Da Zidian, another Chinese character dictionary, as evidence for this simplified form. Unicode encoded 𱌼 in 2020; that date is about the digital character, not when its meaning began.
