What 𱏶 means
It writes Tày cúa; grammar decides which sense fits.
As a noun, it also means a thing or animal. As a linking word, it marks an “of” relation.
Why did Tày writers use a character script?
It let writers record Tày speech and local names.
Tày Nôm adapted Chinese character forms to write Tày words and names. Its texts include folk poetry, wedding songs, and ritual writing. Poems associated with Cao Bằng’s Mạc court (1594–1677) show a developed script; that period is an early record, not its origin. A Latin-based Tày–Nùng orthography was approved in 1961.
